Job description
The Shipping & Logistics Controller is a key role in the movement of product and parts between Palamatic and its UK and worldwide customer base. Sitting within the Operations team the Shipping & Logistics Controller will work closely with the Production teams, Project teams and freight fowarders to ensure the timely import and export of goods. An excellent understanding of customs compliance and INCO terms is essential, along with a meticulous eye for detail in completing all the required documentation for efficient shipping. Logging, tracking and reporting on all shipments against performance criteria will be key to producing vendor ratings and measuring success.
The Shipping & Logistics Controller will also manage all required logistics to ensure successful movement of parts through 3rd party processing.
Responsibilities
- Managing all import and export of products and parts from the UK and worldwide.
- Co-ordinating, negotiating and pricing with a variety of freight forwarders and freight partners.
- Checking INCO Terms for contracts.
- Responsible for all customs compliance - Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists.
- Preparing transit documentation and packing lists for haulier, airlines and freight forwarders.
- Prepare documentation for shipping invoicing.
- Liaising with internal departments on logistics requirements for any other movements of parts required to and from 3rd parties.
- Produce regular reports for the Production Manager and Board on shipping performance criteria and performance of suppliers.
- Building and maintaining relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with other team members and peers to support and maintain the Palamatic procedures and objectives.
- Take ownership and responsibility for personal and professional development, attending all 1-2-1s with an organised and planned approach, agreeing and delivering on objectives and completing all training required.

Skills
- 2+ year's experience within Import / Export / Shipping / Freight
- Experienced in import or export operations worldwide
- Strong background in multi-modal forwarding (preference towards sea and air freight)
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance (Letter of Credit, HAWB, MAWB, Bills of Laden, Chamber of Commerce Documentation)
- Previous experience of Sage 200 essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Organised and able to prioritise
- Strength of character to take responsibility and work with passion and energy, maintaining high expectations for performance delivery

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
