Job Title: Shift Manager
Department: Production
Direct Report(s): Process Supervisor, Packaging Supervisor, QA Inspector, Flake Process Operator, Flake Packaging Operator
Reports to: Production Manager
Overall Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to manage the production process through effective management of people working on their shift, and to ensure quality, production and safety key performance indicators are achieved by following the SQKWR philosophy at all times. To protect the brand, maintain trust and deliver our legal obligation by ensuring customers food is sourced and manufactured to the food integrity requirements of each customer.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the performance of the team in order to achieve objectives, by coaching, upskilling and holding team members accountable.
- Accountable for quality, people, productivity and safety objectives for the shift, including the integrity of products at all times. Initiates corrective actions when required to alter performance levels to the appropriate standard.
- Liaise with the raw department, planning and buying to plan for the shifts in the week ahead.
- Responsible and accountable for KPI targets and results of the shift.
- Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift.
- Ensure own work and own team’s work is compliant with relevant legal, health and safety, environmental and human resources policies, procedures, objectives and regulations.
- Take the lead responsibility for the ownership of a particular area of the facility as required by the area ownership model.
- Supporting the production manager in the development of the annual operations operating plan and taking responsibility for key elements of it.
- Development of the team via the talent review process and associated action plans.
- Resonsible for increasing the Great Place to Work score for the shift by initiating corrective actions required from the survey.
- Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager.

Management/ Leadership Skills Required
Management skills; accountable for daily activities of team, forward planning for the shift and an ownership model area. Conducting performance reviews and recommending pay actions, coaching team members, conducting disciplinaries up to and including dismissal.
Qualifications
Five GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent).
Higher education/degree desirable.
Lamb Weston chemical training
H+S,GMP and food safety desirable
PPT – to be completed
RPPT
Experience
Relevant supervisory experience in a food (or similar) manufacturing environment
SAP/SCADA or equiv. experience
