Shift - Dependent on area but min 24/5, max 24/7, Shift Leader is expected to work 12h shift, night and days spread between Monday and Sunday

We now have a fantastic opportunity for talented, driven individuals to apply for role as Shift Leader based in York Factory.
A day in the life of a Shift Leader
The Shift Leader role is part of the existing Production team and will be responsible for operating a production line and day-to-day coordination of the line. They will support the Line Performance Managers with co-ordinating duties of the production operation throughout the shift ensuring work and resource are prioritised in accordance with production plans and operational requirements. This is in line with the current departmental shift patterns.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Proactively promoting positive behaviours around individual safety, and safety of others in line with the Nestlé Leadership Framework
- Ensuring the plan is delivered in the most effective way, through use of resources and prioritisation
- Contributing to improving efficiency by advocating and using the NCE tools and methodology to reduce/eliminate losses
- Supporting the Line Performance Managers in People Processes where requested including resolving team issues and coaching team members to achieve the NLF behaviours
- Leading by example and confidently coaching in the following areas: DPR, Understanding the OMP and what it means to individuals and the team
- Role modelling the standards required to perform production activities correctly

The successful candidate will have a record of high performance in their current role and will be looking to develop themselves in a new challenge working for the biggest food manufacturer in the world. They will have good communication and leadership skills as communicating effectively with people at all levels within the business will be part of your daily role. Experience in leading a team in production environment is essential.
In order to succeed in this role, you will need to be able to inspire, motivate and coach your team, enabling them to develop the tools and behaviours they will need to support our journey to manufacturing excellence. You should also have a strong ability for creatively finding solutions to problems and suggesting new ways of working to enable the factory to compete at a higher level.
