We are currently recruiting 2x shift laborers to join our team on a 3-Year FTC basis.
Location: Canton Train Maintenance Depot, Leckwith Road, Cardiff, CF11 8HP
Salary: £23,003.14/year (£12.29/h inclusive of 20% shift allowance)

Working hours: 36h/ week (any hours worked above 36h/week will be classed as overtime and paid accordingly)
Work schedule:
- Week one: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 2:00pm; Friday 6:00am - 12:00pm
- Week two: Monday - Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm; Friday 12:00pm - 6:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant laborer experience (Desirable)
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work throughout the site, carrying out tasks such as painting, loading ovens, basic assembly, and assisting the fitters in a wide range of tasks as directed.
- Keep manufacturing areas free of debris and dirt.
- Set out and put away tools.
- Maintain documentation in line with the organisation’s procedures.
- Wash components
- Ensure the safe operation of hand and power tools within the area of responsibility.
- Comply with and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Comply with safe systems of work for the task in line with organisational procedures and work to the system.
- Ensure that all work carried out is in line with organisational quality management system.
- Participate as and when required in one-to-one meetings and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, relevant to the role.
- Keep up to date with developments within the Company and other sector-wide practices, that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant internal/external factors (e.g. Company policies and procedures, Quality Management standards, Health and Safety).
- Ensure, in the course of employment, complete confidentiality is maintained in respect of the Company, its dealings, transactions and all other information relating to clients/customers/staff etc.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience of working in a modern manufacturing / engineering environment (Desirable).
- Experience of safe working practices in a safety critical workplace (Desirable).
- Able to use hand and machine tools (Essential).
- Able to follow and carry out clear instructions (Essential).
- Able to follow a pre-planned schedule of work / instructions/procedures in place (Essential).
- Able to carry out manual handling duties (Essential).
- The ability to successfully achieve set targets and quality standards (Essential).
- A genuine commitment to achieving high standards and an eye for detail to monitor the quality of work done (Essential).
- Able to comply with health and safety rules in a safety critical environment (Essential)
- Able to work effectively as part of team (Essential).
- The ability to maintain accurate records (Essential).
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail (Essential).
- Able to work flexibly and work across a broad range of activities as the role evolves (Essential).
