We are looking to recruit a Shift Compliance Engineer for our food production facility in Scarborough. This role would suit a time served, qualified Engineer.
ABOUT THE ROLE.
Our Shift Compliance Engineers play a big part in ensuring we run a safe and legal operation. It’s your job to partner with our Engineering, Production and Leadership teams to ensure we’re compliant across all relevant safety, food safety & legal requirements, with company policy and procedures.

- Ensuring that all legal, audit, planned, scheduled, re-active & pro-active engineering works are carried out in full.
- Ensuring all records, documentation and reports are completed accurately, in full and on time.
- Co-ordinate the shift engineering resource to ensure plan conformance is achieved.
- Coaching and engaging front line Maintenance Engineer’s to ensure they perform to an acceptable standard and operate in accordance with site systems and policies.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.
You must already have experience of working within a Maintenance / Engineering Department and of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems. And as well as a love of chips, you must also have…
- Previous experience in a Compliance Engineer or relevant role e.g. Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Project Engineer and Maintenance Engineer.
- IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH General Certificate. - preferred
- Experience of leading a team, focussed on coaching and mentoring.
- HNC or equivalent in appropriate Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Advanced Food Hygiene, HACCP and lean manufacturing knowledge desirable

WHERE WILL I WORK?
You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come!
We also know you’ll want to know what you’ll be working. Our shifts are typically 12-hours, working 2 days on (7am-7pm), 1 day off, 2 nights on (7pm-7am), 3 days off.
