After extensive and comprehensive training the successful candidate will be responsible for the production, In-line testing and packing of chemical products manufactured to specific formulations that meet rigorous quality assurance specifications.
The operator is responsible for complying with all company safety and environmental procedures ensuring their own personal safety, the safety of all others and the environment
BIP (Oldbury) Ltd - JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title : PROCESS OPERATOR
Reports to : Shift leader.
Main function of job : Operate reactors safely and efficiently to meet quality and quantity targets set. Responsibility for the efficient transfer of goods in and out of Raw material stores.
Main duties (in order of priority)
- Operation of production processes in a manner consistent with BIP (Oldbury) Ltd.'s commitment to protect the environment, health of employees, customers and the general public.
- Ensure that product quality and quantity targets are met.
- Liaise with maintenance department to ensure breakdowns are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Assist other operators as required by line supervisors
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environment matters are treated as priority issues.
- Practice good housekeeping within the plants and surrounding areas.
- Ability to undertake required Quality Control analysis.
- Undergo training in multi-skilling, particularly regarding simple engineering/maintenance tasks
- Undertake loading, blending operations and other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE standard.

Experience required:
- Previous experience in batch or continuous processes in chemical manufacturing preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
- Awareness of HSE issues.
Any particular attribute/skill required:
- Practical hands-on individual, flexible team player.
- Knowledge of computer systems.
