Would you like to be part of a production team responsible for transforming acoustic solutions from design drawings to high quality manufactured products?
Acoustical Control Engineers is celebrating its 50th year designing, manufacturing and installing high quality noise and vibration control products.
We are looking for three personnel to join the team responsible for the manufacture of our high quality noise and vibration acoustic control products.
The role will be based in our workshop manufacturing a variety of steel based acoustic products, including enclosures, louvres, attenuators, screens, doors and vibration isolators. Some products are simply despatched from our factory, but most are delivered to and installed on site by our installation team.
This role involves a wide variety of tasks, using equipment such as guillotine, punch, notcher and press brake, together with hand tools such as drills, riveters, snips, jigsaws and rivnut tools, turning sheet steel into our bespoke products.
We are looking for reliable, determined, friendly, and motivated people to join our team to handle our increasing workload.
Appropriate in house on the job training will be given to the successful candidate, supplying them with valuable skills and knowledge of working with a variety of materials and tools to become a valued member of our Team.
Additional external training e.g. Forklift Truck and First Aid will be provided to the suitable candidate when appropriate.

Duties include
- Working in the factory, manufacturing a range of bespoke products for specific projects.
- Working with in house machinery including guillotine, press brake, bandsaw etc.
- Prepare and collate materials, as per each order, in readiness for despatch.
- Assemble and install a variety of enclosures etc. in the factory ready to be shipped directly to the client.
- Problem solving, as and when required
- Quality Control throughout production
- Ensure all tools are maintained and used in a safe manner
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Be prepared for a wide variety of tasks and jobs, learning new skills and techniques in the sheet metal and fabrication industry.
Skills needed (training will be provided where appropriate)
- Accurate and precise working skills
- Able to read drawings
- Able to use a range of sheet metal manufacturing equipment and tools
- Able to safely lift heavy loads
- Able to follow management instructions
- Work as a team member to produce work to a high standard.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A motivated attitude and practical aptitude will be crucial for the most suitable candidate.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Some weekend work may be required
Overtime Rates:
40-45 hrs (1.25 x Rate)
45-55 hrs (1.5 x Rate)
+55 hrs (2 x Rate)
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Based at Bourn, Cambs, CB23 2TA.
