Specialty Doctor in Integrated Sexual Health based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor in North Wales. The post holder will work closely with the current two Consultants in Genitourinary/HIV Medicine and Integrated Sexual Health/HIV, to deliver clinical services of the highest standards across North West Wales.
The main base for this post will be at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital with satellite clinics delivered from Bryn Beryl Hospital, Llandudno and Penrhos Stanley Hospital, Holyhead. The number of clinics / sessions and satellite sites are negotiable and the weekly time table of this post may be modified according to service requirements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Speciality Doctor within the Sexual Health/GUM Service, which provides Sexual Health clinics for the area of Gwynedd and community clinics at Anglesey, Llandudno. The successful candidate will work alongside the department Consultants and other colleagues in diagnosing and managing STIs, assessing and providing all methods of contraception including Coils and Implants.
The successful candidate will join a team of2 Consultants, 1 Speciality Doctor and experienced Nursing & Administration teams. The role will be covering 7 sessions per week; 5 clinics, one of which will be a late clinic and one SPA activity. The clinics take place during the workday week between Mondays to Friday.
The envisagement of the role will be to provide the service where it is required, so flexibility is needed, however the main base for the role will be at the Gwynedd Hospital, which is one of three District General Hospitals within BCUHB and provides health care for North West Wales. There are 465 acute beds and most specialities are provided that would be expected in a large DGH.
