Job description
The successful candidate would be expected to provide administrative support to the team of sexual health advisers in the management of patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections. This includes using several electronic patient management systems
The post holder will have phone extensive phone/email contact with patients who may be distressed so the interactions need to be sensitively dealt with.
The post holder will exercise his /her initiative to a significant level without direct supervision and be able to respond promptly to unexpected events surrounding the service.
The post holder will give limited advice re simple sexually transmitted infections and associated issues with the support of senior colleagues
Responsibility for managing positive STI results and the recall of patients by text , phone ,email, and letter according to local guidelines .
Follow up partner notification outcomes for patients diagnosed with an STI
Managing the phone calls and emails coming into the sexual health advisers office processing promptly
Ensure that any interaction with patients is accurately documented
Where appropriate ensure clinical coding is accurate
Managing databases and data entry
