Essential Job Functions:
- Sets up and helps train new hires on computer hardware, software, and other equipment.
- Responsible for the building and regular maintenance of templates and all functional levels of EMR within clinic, hospital, and surgery center for physicians, extenders, and clinical staff.
- Develops procedures and policies to ensure high performance and ease of access for all users.
- Works with operational departments to train and improve their use of computer systems.
- Designs and implements security and back-up systems for data recovery.
- Demonstrates critical judgment and leadership necessary to assess clinical and technical environment and implement strategic initiatives necessary to meet performance targets.
- Responsible for development of processes that provide peak performance between the EMR systems and all functional levels of clinic workflows.
- Ensures compliance with all database data and security of the data.
- Responsible for developing the workflow of notes.
- Works Prescription Errors and Incomplete tasks for all clinical providers and extenders.
- Maintains a completion list for any exited employee to ensure all notes are completed.
- Works directly with Directors and staff to research, initiate, report on, and maintain recommended outcomes within BPCI, MIPS, and all other quality improvement reporting mechanisms.
- Participates in process improvement; initiates suggested improvements through development and/or training of workflows.
- Completes security audits to ensure that systems operate properly.
- Provides IT support and troubleshooting services to all employees.
- Performs and maintains IT security programs for all data, computer, and server hardware.
- Works with managers to develop reports to all departments to support the needs of the medical practice including extracting data from databases to satisfy standard ad hoc requests; developing dashboards, databases, spreadsheets, and other programs to manipulate data.
- Ensures that security measures are effective and that privacy/confidentiality policies are in compliance.
- Monitors EMR and Produces Physician Dashboards, Nurse/MA Dashboards, and Billing Dashboards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, system informatics or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in system informatics; 1 year in clinical administration preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency of electronic medical records systems preferred. Must have strong data entry skills.
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, knowledge of health insurance industry practices and/or medical billing procedures.
- Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems preferred.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
- Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions.
- Must demonstrate ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems.
- Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately.
- Must be able to travel to all clinic locations and work overtime hours as needed.
