We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Service Desk Technician to join our team. The IT Service Desk Technician will install, assess, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade computers and equipment of different types, including copiers printers, and scanners, of all users so that they perform optimally.
May require overtime and afterhours support as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide internal customers with tier one technical support for IT ServiceDesk requests
- Become proficient with and utilize standard ServiceDesk support tools
- Isolate problems and conduct appropriate research and troubleshooting efforts
- Manage workstation setup and deployment for new employees using image builds and hardware/software
- Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
- Configure and install hardware, software, and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, applications, network, user access, or related issues
- Properly escalate complex problems and/or unresolved requests to appropriate support channel
- Recommend process changes as needed to improve service levels
- Manage requests and document all activities in ServiceDesk ticketing system
- Install/test/configure new workstations, software, and peripheral technology
- Manage all lifecycle phases of client access systems and peripherals as required
- Ensure security best practices are applied to all facets of position responsibilities
- Create and maintain support documentation and procedures
- Report ServiceDesk trends to IT Management
- Assist with and facilitate associate relocations
- Travel to offsite datacenters/branch locations as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a technical major such as engineering or computer science preferred
- 3+ years of experience working as a ServiceDesk Technician (or equivalent) in an enterprise helpdesk environment
- 3+ years supporting client devices (PC’s/MACs, thin clients, tablets, smart phones (Android/Apple IOS)
- 3+ years performing Active Directory administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
- Strong knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office suites
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with Antivirus and Antispam technologies
- Experience working with PowerShell preferred
- Experience supporting Mac OS preferred
- Microsoft, Comptia, or Cisco certification preferred
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain productive working relationships with peers
- Strong focus on customer service
