The Opportunity
In your role as Service Desk Analyst, you will help us achieve our goals and deliver success on behalf of our customers by supporting users of varying skill levels and across a range of devices, including Windows 10, Linux (CentOS and Ubuntu) and Apple Mac to ensure stability and consistency across our organisation from an IT perspective. You’ll be responsible for building machines, user provisioning and keeping an inventory of all IT equipment as well as troubleshooting across various environments running on our Hyper V infrastructure.
The role is based in our Cambridge office and is a hybrid role, so you will ideally be comfortable coming into the office at least 2 -3 times a week. There may also be occassional travel to our London office. If you’re interested in the role but require more flexibility, please speak to us!
Day to Day
- Responding promptly to IT support requests
- Maintaining an inventory of IT equipment
- Supporting and maintaining Audio / Video equipment in meeting rooms
- Building laptops and desktops for new starters and replacing equipment as required
- Supporting remote offices and home-based users
- Maintaining documentation for IT staff and end users
- Management and monitoring of backups
About you
Must haves
- A passion for exceptional customer service
- Experience within a service desk role
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 10
- Good understanding of Active Directory administration
- Microsoft Office 365 administration experience
- Understanding of IT security, viruses and malware
- Experience of building laptops and desktops using automated build tools
- Ability to perform hardware repairs and upgrades
- Experience of using a helpdesk ticketing system to categorise and prioritise workload
- Awareness of TCP/IP networking and WI-FI technology
- Understanding of Audio & Video / Video Conferencing solutions
Great to haves
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Hyper-V virtualisation
- Experience of maintaining backups
- Good knowledge of Mac OS and Linux (Centos and Ubuntu)
- Basic understanding of scripting (PowerShell and Bash)
- Managing Mobile Devices using MDM solutions
- Azure Active Directory and Intune knowledge
