Service Assistant
PCC Grade 5 £21,575 - £22,369 pro rata 30 hours per week
The successful applicants will be entitled to 25 days year Annual Leave plus all Bank Holidays pro rata

We are looking for an individual that has the energy and enthusiasm to work with adults with learning disabilities in Day Opportunities, based at City College Peterborough to support individuals with Learning disabilities to maximise their potential and independence skills. This post is not term time hours and will be working over 5 days Monday – Friday.
You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services. You will assist with the planning, facilitating and evaluating in undertaking individual and/or group work with service users within the day service and/or community settings as determined by the care plans, supporting less experienced colleagues to prepare for and run sessions for individuals.
You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities. You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication. You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.
