The Hours: Flexible hours available which includes weekend shifts; to be discussed at interview (No Evenings & No Split Shifts)
The Salary: £5,628 per annum
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 5th November 2023
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the year. You'll work 536 hours over the duration of your contract.

Every day will be spent in an ancient Castle, welcoming visitors and sharing stories about the history of the site. We have a small but dedicated number of volunteers who you will support on a day to day basis on the operational running of the house. You will also work closely with the house team, helping maintain the staff and visitor facilities, as well as doing some conservation cleaning. You will meet a wide variety of people, both staff and visitors alike, so if you enjoy providing fantastic customer service, this may be the role for you.

What you'll be doing:Visitors are a vital part of what we do. As the Service Assistant it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive in the Castle is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day. In this role, you’ll be;
- Working alongside the house staff team and volunteers in delivering outstanding customer service to the house
- Welcoming and admitting visitors to the property, providing information and orientation, as required
- Support in the delivery of events at various times throughout the year
- Support across the property when required
- Assist the team in maintaining staff and volunteer facilities
- Helping the conservation team with day to day cleaning
- A can-do attitude
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with people
- A willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work well in a team or on your own
- Good understanding of the National Trust and what we do
