Job Responsibilities:
Providing exceptional customer service: Greet and welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and ensure their comfort throughout their dining experience. Offer menu recommendations, answer questions, and anticipate guests' needs to provide personalised and attentive service.
Taking orders and delivering food and beverages: Efficiently take food and beverage orders, accurately enter them into the POS system, and ensure timely delivery of orders to tables. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
Table maintenance: Set up tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments. Clear tables and reset them for the next guests, ensuring a clean and organised environment.
Upselling and suggestive selling: Enhance guests' dining experience by promoting daily specials, recommending wine pairings, and offering additional menu items to increase revenue and overall satisfaction.
Handling guest inquiries and concerns: Actively listen to guests' feedback, address any concerns promptly and professionally, and escalate issues to the manager when necessary. Strive to exceed guest expectations and leave a positive impression.
Cash handling and POS operations: Process payments accurately, including handling cash and operating the POS system effectively. Maintain integrity and accuracy in handling transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies.
Collaborating with the team: Work closely with other staff members, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth and coordinated service. Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for food, wine, and delivering exceptional service.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and familiarity with menu items and ingredients is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
