Position summary:
In this position you are responsible for providing table service as per Maurya’s standards. As a server you must not only take orders but be sociable and interact with guests to create a service-forward attitude and fun environment. You must deliver food to tables at the correct times and by communicating with chefs and team members so they are made on time and served with correct sides. As a server you have side duties and a checklist to maintain including tasks like making cutlery wraps, stocking glasses, cleaning tables, etc.
Following your checklist daily to maintain the server station setup, front of house stations, and cleaning tasks is mandatory. Collaborating with the kitchen crew and servers is mandatory, as well as maintaining knowledge of Indian cuisine (only while working with us). This is a role that requires self direction to prioritize certain tasks daily and stay on top of your checklist. Multi-purpose and multi-tasking is an asset.

Key Objectives:
1. You must complete our hosting and takeout training before working as a server to ensure smooth flow of learning our menu and basic processes.
2. Deliver drinks, plates, starters, and mains in a timely manner to tables according to our service procedures.
3. Complete server side duties according to the checklist including tasks like polishing cutlery/glasses, cleaning tables, making cutlery wraps, stocking bar glasses etc.
4. Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
5. Hosting, greeting, and seating tables. Telling daily features to tables.
6. Have comprehensive knowledge of our menu, Indian cuisine, spices, craft cocktails specialty, and spice level ranges.
7. Walk to the front of the house when you hear the door alarm to check if there's a customer picking up food or a delivery driver ready to pick up food. Follow the greeting process, scripts and payment process and give them their correct takeout orders to maintain fast service.
9. Bus and sanitize tables. Clear dishes with the trolley and take them to the dish pit. Spray and sanitized booths and tables. Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning.
10. Keep the servers stations area clean and setup organized.
11. Be sociable with guests in a formal style. Communicate clearly to guests in a friendly and outgoing manner. We are about enthusiastic and top-notch service.
12. Be able to answer phone calls according to the phone script.
13. Must abide with enhanced covid protocols, maintain personal hygiene, and adhere to food safe practices. Includes wearing a hairnet, proper attire, scent-free etc as per business requirements.
14. Complete full and proper closing of front of house by following checklist and putting away the patio.
Schedule:
5 - 8 hour shift, up to 15-20 hours per week.
Evening shift usually 5-9pm but may vary.
3-4 days a week.
Weekends.

Education/experience:
MUST have worked in a restaurant setting.
MUST be communication forwarded and sociable.
Understand operations of kitchen and front of house through previous jobs
Experience of 3 months hospitality minimum is an asset
Knowledge and understanding of Indian cuisine
Physical Requirements:
Standing and walking for periods of time.
Is physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment and safely lifts heavy loads.
