Shift Times: 17:00 to 22:00 across Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Food Steward to join our esteemed private hospital’s Food Services team. As a Food Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients and staff receive exceptional food service and maintain a high level of satisfaction. Your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service while delivering meals and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the food service areas. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver meals to patients in accordance with their dietary restrictions and prescribed meal plans
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of meal orders, paying attention to special dietary needs, allergies, and restrictions
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the food service areas, including food preparation, serving, and dining areas
Follow proper food handling and safety protocols, including temperature monitoring, storage, and labeling
Collect and process patient feedback on food quality, portion sizes, and overall satisfaction
Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of meals and resolve any issues or concerns
Maintain inventory of food supplies, monitor expiration dates, and report any shortages or discrepancies
Assist in the preparation of catering orders for hospital events and meetings
Collaborate with the Food Services team to improve service quality and efficiency

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy trays or food carts
