The Role

We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital to provide excellent client and patient care. Your duties will include Inpatient care, assisting in theatre and monitoring anaesthesia, lab work, working in x-ray, admitting, and discharging patients, assisting vets, triaging emergencies, and assisting with dental procedures. Working in a team, preparing pre-meds, monitoring fluid therapy and patient observations.

We would like a Senior RVN to be a constant in the hospital, bringing experience and a calm and confident approach to working on the hospital floor. Assisting in teaching SVN's and supporting other RVN's and Vets. Happy to get involved wherever needed and lead by example. A positive influence and presence in the hospital. Good organisational skills.

The rota involves working 5 days a week, this could be flexible but ideally, we are looking for 5 days a week. The shift patterns are from 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm, 8.30am-5.30pm, 10.30am-7.30pm, 11.30-8.30pm. The weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday 8am-4.30pm including a 30-minute unpaid break. This is on a 1 in 5 weekend rota. Minimal out of hours.

Salary for this role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.



About Us

Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital are located in beautiful Stroud, surrounded by woodland. There are plenty of beautiful walks for lunchtime breaks or before and after work. We have 4 consulting rooms (one for nurse consultations) Cat Reception, Main Reception, Isolation ward, separate feline and canine wards and an operating theatre. We have an array of equipment such as X-ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopic equipment, in house Lab - Biochemistry, Haematology, urinalysis, microscope. We are a behaviour and fear free focused practice.

Our team consists of 11 Vets, 11 RVN's, 3 SVN's, 5 VCA's and 11 Receptionists. Amongst the team we also have some certificate holders in Emergency Critical Care, Surgery and Dermatology.
We are a friendly and welcoming team passionate about out patient care client care. Our staff's wellbeing is a huge focus in the practice, and we frequently have social events, partly funded by the practice, including a summer family barbeque, Christmas party, pottery making, samba drumming, ninja warrior and many more. As a team we also take part in charity events and choose local charities to support. A good work life balance is important to us.



Applicant Requirements

Registered Veterinary Nurse ideally 5+ years’ experience. Driving license. Ability to deal with difficult situations, ability to lead and organise and keep calm in a busy hospital environment. Confident and friendly approach to nursing, working with colleagues and dealing with clients.
