B2B Payments and Lending Credit Strategy and Operations team is looking for a Sr. Underwriting Manager to manage the credit underwriting operations of UK & EU4 credit portfolio. The successful candidate will be able to help to build a best in class underwriting program. In this role, the candidate will drive credit policy changes and procedures related to underwriting operations, as well as manage a team of credit analysts responsible for manually reviewing and making credit decisions based on the customer’s financials and credit worthiness. The ideal candidate should possess strong people and credit management skills, directly support continuous improvement initiatives, resourceful, Customer-focused and team oriented, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. This is a management role directly managing a team of Credit Analysts; demonstrated success managing a team is a must.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations for the EU Credit Operations team, which includes direct management of Credit Analysts responsible for daily processes
- Coach and mentor Credit Analysts on policy, procedures and functional initiatives, and scale underwriting operations team
- Assist in defining policies and product features to support automated and manual credit decisioning and monitoring
- Establish and constantly improve credit adjudication and performance monitoring platform
- Develop processes, mechanisms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to grow efficiently and in a scalable way
- Review complex credit decisions that require manual reviews or exceptions
- Identify, monitor and communicate the right metrics to measure process quality, decision quality and team productivity
- Participate in program operations, partner with product managers and contribute to team-wide improvement goals
- Own relationships with Sales and Business operations to ensure balance between customer needs and prudent risk management
