£12.38 - £13.20 plus £30 sleep in

As the new Senior Support Worker for the Home, you will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference. Most importantly, you will get to really understand our children and their backgrounds, making sure that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable and detail focused, ensuring that our children’s safety is assured at all times, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.

We are seeking talented individuals to join our teams as on shift Senior Support Workers to join our experienced team at our well-established OFSTED registered homes located across the South West region. We are looking for you to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of the young people in our care and provide guidance and support to colleagues.
The children in our care are between 8-18 years of age and have a range of complex needs - which may include emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will be asked to work alongside other qualified care givers and clinicians in homely settings that care for no more than 4 young people at a time.
You will be involved in all aspects of their everyday life, such as household duties, transporting the children to school and other provisions, maintaining paperwork and enriching their lives through activities and supporting hobbies. This package of care, which you will play an important part, is aimed to support the development and the mental wellbeing of the children in our care.
Example of our shifts:
Our typical shift pattern is 1 on 2 off, or 2 on 4 off – this will include sleep ins.
There is of course some flexibility and our managers know how important a good work life balance is for their team. Having at least one weekend a month off and splitting up the Saturday and Sunday shifts for a work life balance.
Duties:
- Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions
- To assist the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to in achieve the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation’s Mission Statement and Values.
- To support and manage the staff team to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
- To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
- Helping the young people access education
- Household duties/ Paperwork
- Days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
- Contacts, visit, key work meeting and therapy sessions
- Offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives
Requirements
- Must hold a full UK driving licence
- Must hold a Level 3 Dip in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- 12 months experience working in a residential setting – desirable
