Job description
The role
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Scientist to join our team in Oxford. This position will focus on Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs), T cell Receptor (TCR) and the engineering of these receptors and production of CAR/TCR cells therapies. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of current state-of-the-art CAR-T cell engineering and production and be able to apply these practices at the bench. This role will drive technology developments and optimization of CAR validation primary cell systems.
Principal Responsibilities
- Designs and conducts complex experiments either acting independently or working in conjunction with (senior) research scientists or group leaders
- Develop CAR expression constructs and innovation on CAR design
- Lead the production of primary CAR-T cells
- Characterize CAR-T properties in various assays, like ELISA, FACS, reporter gene assays
- Maintaining clear records of experimental work and communicating these results to the team.
Experience
- PhD degree in a relevant discipline (immunology, biochemistry, cell/molecular biology) and related laboratory experience and demonstrated ability in a research role
- Extensive cell-based assay development experience with a variety of readout technologies including flow cytometry, ELISA is required.
- Deep hands-on expertise in aspects of in cell biology; involving multiple mammalian cell types and their culture (cell lines, primary immune cells)
- Experience with CAR or TCR-based discovery methods
- Show capacity to effectively identify and critically review innovative methodologies
- Self-motivated, independent, and strong work ethic
**Even if you don't meet all the qualifications, but are excited about the job, we would love to chat with you! We believe that anyone who is interested in a topic is able to learn. Do not hesitate to apply.
about coding.bio
coding.bio is an exciting biotech startup, working at the intersection of computation, synthetic biology and cell therapy. We are a small team, passionate about science and looking for outstanding people to join our team.
What we do
We are now in the era of cellular therapies and they have shown their enormous potential in curing cancer with a single treatment. However, we still have a long way ahead, improving existing therapies and discovering exciting new ones.
At coding.bio, we use an AI-first approach to design new chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), combined with our high-throughput screening platform to discover best-in-class CARs to power the cell therapy revolution. Our ultimate goal is to provide curative therapeutics to as many patients as possible.
Want to become part of the team?
We are always looking for great talent at any stage of their career to join us. As part of our team you will use your skills to help us to build therapeutics of the future. You must be highly motivated, be able to collaborate in a team and eager to learn.
