This Senior Sales/Assistant Manager vacancy is based at our branch in Colchester, Essex but may suit candidates living in any nearby locations.
Plastech (Southern) Limited are a private and independently owned plastic pipework distribution organisation with branches in Hampshire and Essex specialising in the supply of specialist underground plastic pipework and associated groundworks materials to builders, groundworkers and civil engineers.
Due to continued expansion and an increase in business we are now looking to recruit an Internal Sales Person to work out of our branch based in Colchester, Essex. This role will require the suitable candidate to assist the depot manager and other internal sales staff in the day to day smooth running of the depot.
Based in our Colchester sales office, and reporting directly to the branch manager, you will be part of a dedicated internal sales team committed to the branch sales efforts. This will involve sales of a wide range of materials, mostly over the telephone. You will be ordering materials, negotiating prices, and responding to queries from customers (both trade and retail) and suppliers. You will also be required to deal with the many customers who visit our trade counter and to assist the yard staff with their duties as and when required. Previous sales experience would be preferential and specific product training can be provided. Previous experience from within the builder’s merchants or associated industry would be extremely beneficial to any applicant.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ordering materials and negotiating prices
- Responding to a wide range of queries from customers
- Proactively looking to increase branch turnover and profit
- Dealing with customers on the trade counter
- Assisting the yard staff with their duties as required

Job Details:
- 40 hours per week - 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday (no weekends or bank holidays)
- 28 days annual holiday entitlement (including bank holidays)
