The Arundel Wetland Centre is set within the Arun Valley in the South Downs National Park.

We are seeking a hardworking and proactive individual to assist with all aspects of habitat management with the aim of enhancing the biodiversity of the reserve to deliver a positive future for this amazing site, the staff and volunteers that work there and all of our visitors and supporters.

The role will support the planning and practical management of the wetland reserve, species monitoring as well as the upkeep and development of site infrastructure. In addition, the role will be a part of a team providing excellent customer service and delivering high quality public engagement.


To join as our Senior Reserve Warden you’ll need:


  • Experience of working in a reserve management role with certification and experience of using machinery e.g. brushcutters, tractors, chainsaws.

  • To have good field skills in at least one major taxonomic group (birds, invertebrates, plants).

  • To be a positive team player who is comfortable with risk assessments and compliance with safety procedures.

  • A good mix of practical conservation and engagement experience with a track record of supervising staff and volunteers to achieve challenging conservation targets.
