We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with a commitment to animal welfare to join us as a Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant at our thriving North London site. You will join us on a full time, 12 month fixed term contract, working 35 hours per week to include some weekends. In return, as our Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant you will receive a competitive salary of up to £26,535.12 including London weighting per annum plus excellent benefits.
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of adoption and homing centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2020, despite all of the challenges, we helped 126,000 cats and kittens. That's the equivalent of around 345 cats a day!
Our adoption and homing centres care for thousands of cats each year until they are able to find a loving new home. In 2020 27,000 cats were rehomed,15,000 of these through our hand-free homing service, and 1,900 more reunited with their owners. This success would not be possible without our dedicated team of employees and volunteers. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our centres are the face of Cats Protection and we pride ourselves on our employees providing the very best in animal welfare and customer service.
Responsibilities of our Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
As a Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant, you will work to meet Cats Protections’ aims and values by providing first class care for the cats in our centres. You will be supporting the Centre and Deputy Manager in the day to day running of the Centre. You'll provide support and supervision to employees and volunteers to meet day to day operational requirements and maintain cat care standards, as well as present a professional and friendly image with customers and visitors.
What we’re looking for in our Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
- a full, manual driving license is essential
- proven experience of working in animal care
- an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
- a strong, flexible team player
- friendly and approachable with a positive upbeat attitude
- team leader or supervisory experience is essential
