About the Compliance Team and the Role
With a focus on brand protection, the Regulatory Compliance Team plays a critical role in ensuring that products can be marketed and sold legally all over the world. Based at our Head Office near Manchester Airport, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the global success of market leading brands powered by Ingenuity.
The Regulatory and Compliance team's primary focus is to ensure compliance to specific Product Integrity, Testing, Certification, Labelling and Website Content legislation when onboarding clients. As Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer - Fashion/Consumer Products for a wide range of consumer goods, you will be responsible for global compliance activities protecting THG Ingenuity and third-party brands to meet these changing global requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory & Compliance – Consumer Products, you will be part of a team of regulatory and compliance experts working across a wide portfolio of fashion and retail consumer goods brands.
Responsibilities:
- Keep abreast of emerging regulations and changes to global mandatory and industry practice requirements for fashion & retail consumer products that have direct impact on global market access.
- Assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance in developing strategies that enable corporate growth and profitability whilst maintaining compliance and protecting the business reputation.
- Guide business development teams and help early scoping discussions on market access and brand compliance requirements with prospective clients. Provide regulatory guidance through our regulatory consultancy services model and help answer compliance-related questions regarding new territories launched by new and existing clients. Identifying and providing resolution to strategic and tactical regulatory issues pertaining to consumer goods compliance in these countries.
- Reviewing all aspects of product compliance to enable a smooth onboarding client experience.
- Protecting both THG Ingenuity and third-party brands from regulatory risks, balanced with compliant commercial decisions.
- Monitor and maintain day to day priorities and deliver against business and departmental targets to effectively manage workload.
- Promote continuous improvement of Regulatory & Compliance activities for both internal teams and external third-party brands.
- Develop and roll out training to update internally/externally highlighting changes to regulatory and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years previous experience in regulatory affairs (Clothing, Textiles, and Consumer Products)
- Degree Qualification in Textile Technology, Textile Design, Fashion Design with Textiles, Fashion Buying & Merchandising, or similar willing to pursue a career in clothing and consumer products regulatory affairs.
- Knowledge of Global Market Access legislation ensuring product compliance documentation meets the requirements of all selling locales.
- Experience with global product legislation across multiple product categories desirable, women's, men's, baby and kids, home and garden, furniture, and lighting, electrical and electronics, sport and leisure, beauty tools and accessories
- Specific experience with global product legislation focusing on Fashion Apparel, Footwear, and accessories.
- Good IT Skills
- A high level of resilience and ability to handle complexity
- Ambitious, motivated, meticulous, and capable of taking on responsibility.
- Highly Commercial and a strong communicator.
