Job description

This is a key time to be joining British Airways as we Build a Better BA. We take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are. If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else

As the Senior Recruitment Manager – Compliance, you play a pivotal role in ensuring ongoing compliance with external regulatory and airport standards, as well as internal quality standards. Your expertise in these areas will make you a subject matter expert, providing guidance and knowledge to the team and customers alike.

Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with Corporate Safety and Security and external bodies to drive advancements and changes in regulations, ultimately delivering process efficiencies. Your accountability will extend to ensuring overall compliance of recruitment and vetting procedures, aligning them with internal and external standards set by regulatory bodies and airport authorities.

Owning the relationship with airport authorities, CAA, and other regulatory bodies will be a crucial aspect of your role. Working alongside Corporate Safety and Security, you will strive to improve internal processes, establishing positive partnerships along the way.

In addition, you will lead the British Airways Pass Issue Unit, responsible for providing ID passes to all relevant colleagues in compliance with regulations. Your oversight will extend to the ongoing management of passes during and after employment, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.

Identifying, designing, and implementing a local training strategy will be a key responsibility to enhance the skills and knowledge base of colleagues within the recruitment team. This training strategy will focus on promoting compliance with standards and best practices.

Driving agile practices within the recruitment team will be crucial, using your compliance expertise to identify and implement process improvements across key stages of the recruitment process. You will work closely with the Reporting and PMO Manager to design and implement these process improvements, streamlining the end-to-end recruitment process.

If you have a proven track record in leading teams and creating collaborative relationships with regulators, managing compliance, and driving quality improvement, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Join us in making a difference and contributing to the success of our organisation.

About You:

  • You bring experience in aviation recruitment compliance, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • A natural collaborator, you have experience of working closely with regulatory bodies and airport authorities, ensuring alignment with their requirements.
  • You are solution focused, always looking for innovative solutions to unblock issues, ensuring successful delivery of requirements.
  • Able to prioritise work effectively, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • With a strong ability to create meaningful relationships you can challenge and influence partners at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • A creative and innovative thinker, able to interpret and apply strict regulatory guidance to drive compliance and business performance improvements.

Our Corporate and Support roles come with big potential to make your mark on our business. The airline industry changes so fast that we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to impress customers and get ahead of our competitors. If you’re an innovator and brave and bold thinker, you will be in your element at British Airways.

Your impact on British Airways will be rewarded with a competitive rewards package plus the opportunity to develop and progress your career in many directions.

Not only will you have the chance to further your career development within BA, you’ll have access to our competitive reward and benefits package. This includes core company paid benefits such as a Defined Contribution pension scheme, generous Life Assurance cover and a whole host of options to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
