Senior Quantity Surveyor - NEC3

A long-serving Cost & Project Consultancy are now looking to bring in a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in Cumbria. They have positions across the North West but predominantly you will have the freedom to remote work 2 days a week. This practice pride themselves in complex engineering and traditional civil projects throughout the UK which you will continue to deliver and be part of their ever expanding service.

Due to their versatile project list, they are open to Quantity Surveyors who have operated with NEC3.

The key requirements for this position are ideally for those with few years NEC Contract experience. You will be a pivotal member within the QS team and in return will be offered a very competitive package and numerous company benefits in return.

Currently, they're eager to find ambitious Quantity Surveyors who can work in Cumbria.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate costs and advise on alternative proposals
• Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
• Advise architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials, and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget
• Prepare tendering documents including Bills of Quantities
• Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts
• Follow Practice procedures concerning quality assurance

Requirements

• Have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to flourish in a direct client facing role
• Be able to chair meetings and have the leadership skills needed to lead a project team, which may sometimes include managing conflict and resolving complex issues
• Have exceptional planning and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple demands
• Be able to work independently, make sensible judgements and decisions, and take responsibility for doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
• NEC3/4 contract knowledge
• You must be eligible for security clearance
