Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

The PM CoE supports our audit and assurance practitioners with project coordination and administration. As a Senior Project Support Associate (Pod Lead) you will balance a portfolio of audit, assurance, or internal transformation projects alongside leading and supervising a small pod of people, ensuring they deliver exceptional service to our on-site teams.

In your role, you will have responsibility for two key areas: one will be in relation to managing those in your pod through effective and controlled workflow management, performance management, and people management. The actions that sit within this area will focus on driving the effective utilisation and performance of the pod against KPIs and personal development targets, and ensuring the pod works in line with our core values and policies. The other area of responsibility is in relation to self-managing your portfolio of projects, knowing how to prioritise and coordinate with on-site teams, and planning and completing key actions.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and driving agile project management within the pod to assess and sustain manageable workflow
  • Daily oversight of the pod to ensure adherence to timekeeping, office presence, and absence processes
  • Reviewing, analysing, and challenging data such as utilisation results, compliance with KPIs, and timesheet adherence
  • Attend check-in meetings with pod members and seek guidance from team leaders to implement more effective ways of working
  • Working to a high standard and meeting expected service deliverables through completion of required actions on project portfolio

You will work as part of an established and structured team within a department that continues to grow at speed. The career pathway and people leadership structure will provide you with support and accountability to progress within your role and enable room for development and growth within the department and wider firm while supporting junior colleagues along their path of development.

You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with a range of different colleagues from peers through to directors and deliver exceptional service in a department where high quality is key.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You are a strong leader with excellent attention to detail. Someone who has practiced experience in supervising others and takes a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. You adapt well to a changing environment with a keen eye for enhancing processes to enable better ways of working. We’re able to give you the tools and the autonomy to manage your work in alignment with the department’s vision, trusting that you will seek support where required.

Essential

  • Experience in a supervisory role with accountability for junior member performance, using coaching and mentoring experience to bring out the best results
  • Personal motivation to deliver high-quality standards in all work and ability to see the impact your deliverable has on other operational areas
  • Highly adaptable to change in an environment that continuously drives efficiencies and improvements
  • Broad level of excel knowledge:
    • data interpretation and manipulation using pivots and formulas (SUMIF, COUNTIF, IF statements)

Desirable

  • Experience within a professional services environment
  • Experience or accreditation in agile project management
