Job description
Do you have a passion for delivering Business or Finance transformation? Do you like to challenge the status quo, think differently and look at innovative ways to solve business problems? Are you dynamic, resilient and want to be involved in delivering change that drives Aviva strategy? If you do, you could be part of this transformation.
At Aviva we love to constantly improve the experience, products, and services for the benefit our customers. Our change agenda isn’t just about technology; it’s wide and varied which means that you can work on projects and programmes across all Business Units.
Our one team approach provides great opportunities for career development across the Aviva group. Whilst you don’t need to be from a financial services background, it would be beneficial; we want to bring the best in class regardless of your specific industry experience. If you are motivated by making a difference, enjoy a variety of assignments, are keen to develop and have strong relationship building skills, this could be the role for you!
A bit about the job:
In this role you’ll be delivering projects that support Aviva’s strategy through successful embedding of change, to continuously improve our customer experience.
We’re looking for experienced Senior Project Managers with proven experience in delivering business change or finance led projects who can influence, update and challenge senior stakeholders up to CIO level whilst taking ownership of a budget of up to £5 million. You’ll minimise risk by identifying delivery and operational risks and developing mitigating strategies. We’ll expect you to lead internal and external teams and third-party suppliers.
In Aviva we have three levels of Project Management:
Project Manager
Senior Project Manager
Programme Manager
These range from Junior to Senior levels. The difference as you move up the grade structure is the increase in scope, size and complexity of the change you will be working on and the seniority of the stakeholders you will be interacting with along with an increased focus on leadership, coaching and mentoring of colleagues.
What do we need from you:
The ability to work at pace with resiliency whilst showing a willingness to try new ways of working and solutions (professional level of accreditation preferred but not essential)
Strong foundation in project management skills through all phases from discovery through to benefits realisation
Experienced in business transformation or finance projects along with confident risk and budget management experience
The ability to adapt to different ways of working to deliver outcomes
Capable of working with senior stakeholders with strong and effective influencing skills to challenge and drive the necessary changes
What you’ll get for this role:
Starting salary between £40,000 - £60,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications)
Generous pension (starting level Aviva contributes 8% when you contribute 2%)
Eligibility for annual performance bonus
Family friendly parental and carer’s leave
29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
Up to 40% discount for Aviva products
Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars
