What will I be doing as a Senior Procurement Manager?
As a Senior Procurement Manager you will provide the internal customer with a professional procurement service including commercial advice and support. You will negotiate and award contracts with suppliers so as to protect LNER from risk, ensuring they deliver value for money, quality, compliance with specification and thus lead to improvements in efficiency and service across the company.
You will also have responsibility for.
- Ensuring that LNER has appropriate contractual arrangements with particular focus on indirect spend categories / contracts such as Uniform contract and Marketing services or commitments of £50k and above.
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure contracts deliver successfully against contractually agreed targets, SLA and KPI's and drive continuous improvement through the supply chain.
- Ensuring all contracts fully meet the requirements of the specification and are in accordance with customer specifications, latest safety legislation, quality, Utilitites Contract Regulations; DFT and commited obligations.
- Leading and set-up formal negotiation processes to secure advantageous commercial deals and to ensure LNER is protected under the appropriate terms and conditions in each contract ensuring that safety, quality and environmental requirements are met.
- Development and analysis of the supply chain including emerging markets in the UK/overseas in order to gain maximum benefit with regards to cost, quality, performance and service delivery/standards.
- Construct and issue various types of robust formal invitation to tender documents for customer and business requirements. Undertake criterial evaluation of all commercial offers and recommend preferred supplier to internal customer ensuring a full audit trail is in place.
- Develop, recommend and implement contract management strategies ensuring use of effective procurement techniques, for internal customers, in order to initiate world-class procurement within LNER.
What will I need to be a Senior Procurement Manager?
As a vital role within the business, we would be looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in a management position, responsible for purchasing and contracts management with Utilities Contract Regulation understanding and knowledge. Additionally,
- Advanced user of Microsoft Applications and especially Procurement Systems demonstrating good data manipulation.
- An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Good analytical skills with an ability to critically evaluate proposals.
- Experience in different forms of commercial contracts, responsible business initiatives such as Social Value obligations.
- Understanding of the regulatory framework under which contracts are controlled.
- Broad experience of buying goods and services and delivering contracts within timescales.
- Development and implementation of Procurement strategies.
- Work and lead cross functional teams.
- Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
