Chief Operations Office
The Chief Operations Office (COO) plays a vital role managing the services that keep our business running and delivering to our customers. COO consists of 9 functions including: Satellite Operations, Network Operations, Service Assurance, Service Delivery Aviation and Customer Assurance, Service Delivery and Supply Chain, Project Management Office, Global Cyber Security and Group IT
Primary role purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Inmarsat PMO, the Senior PMO Analyst is an important and strategic role that will help support and further develop three main areas: portfolio management and governance, portfolio and project controls and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives to increase the maturity of the PMO.
In this role, you will work with stakeholders to plan outcomes, requirements, review project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly across the company.
Your stakeholders will span offices and time zones so you will need to be able to coordinate accordingly and keep everyone up to date on progress and deadlines.
This is a dynamic role you can expect to be highly involved in creating PMO processes to help promote governance and support the Delivery team, encompassing Programme and Project Managers to effectively deliver value within Inmarsat.
Finally, your role will involve providing support, direction and coaching to team members to ensure we are a world-class delivery team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day PMO support activities including delivery lifecycle governance, change management, financial controls, and risk management
- Work with senior business managers and delivery leads to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of the PMO’s framework and standards (includes change management, communication and training)
- Lead the governance process & quality assurance of projects in delivery by completing regular health checks on their progress and providing support or training where required
- Responsible for reviewing Programme and Project plans throughout the lifecycle and reporting performance against milestones, critical deliverables, and control frameworks
- Responsible for collating and reviewing the quality of reporting on a monthly basis across the CTO
- Coordinate project closure to identify good practices and ensure lessons learned are logged and actioned as part of a continual improvement process
- Support onboarding new colleagues and ongoing training relating to the development lifecycle, PMO governance, quality, and delivery execution standards
- Ad hoc project support, including the development of key project artefacts
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Solid relevant PMO management experience ideally including
- Programme assurance/ gateway reviews
- PPM Capability development
- Organisational Change Management
- Experience and certifications in any of the following are highly desirable: PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner; APM Qualification; Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3®), or other PMO qualification
- Expert knowledge of the following systems (or equivalents): SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft Project Online, Jira, Confluence (and other Enterprise PMO tools)
- Ability to deliver reporting (trend data, management information etc) utilising data analytics
- Experience with both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of corporate development lifecycles, governance, and prioritisation methodologies
- High level of organisation skills and flexible to respond to changing deliverables in a fast-paced organisation
- Ability to work globally with and influence stakeholders in a complex organisation
- Strong skills in communicating, implementing, and achieving business objectives and goals through engagement and support of others
- Ability to manage workload, comfortable delivering work within frameworks and self-managed priorities
