We have permanent opportunities for a Planning Officer to join our busy team, delivering a high quality and customer focused service. With agile working arrangements in place, and a new and progressive workspace in a town centre location, you will join a team used to working collaboratively with colleagues across our organisation. With recently awarded government funding these are exciting times for us and will mean that your work will span a broad spectrum, ranging from residential developments through to householder extensions.

Applications are invited from experienced practitioners, graduates looking for their first planning role and individuals with an interest in studying to become qualified Planners.

To join at the higher grades, you will either have a relevant degree, diploma and some town planning experience. At the entry grade you will be eligible for, and willing to work towards a planning degree on day release. At the career grade level we will support your learning and development and progression through the career grades with starting salary potential of £25,409 to £37,262 per year (plus 10% recruitment supplement).

Excellent customer focus is essential as is your ability to manage applications to agreed timescales and quality criteria. For this role you will need to be confident and effective in dealing with applicants and their agents, Councillors, residents and other key stakeholders in achieving the very best for our communities, creating an area that is safe, well, prosperous and connected.
