You’ll be excited by the challenges faced of launching White Stuff’s in-house photography studio, bringing to it a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous roles. You’re a highly motivated individual, who actively seeks out areas of improvement by constantly reviewing output and looking to our industry competitors and the wider fashion world for inspiration.

You’re able to work both independently and as part of a team, as one of the senior heads in the studio you thrive taking the lead, guiding and mentoring the more junior team members.

Primary objective of the job:

As part of White Stuff’s Creative team and in-house Photography Studio, you’ll report into the Creative Producer. Working closely with the creative and ecommerce teams you will provide all areas of the business with all commercial and creative photography.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all imagery is shot to the highest standards at volume whilst adhering to the brand guidelines. You’ll work quickly and efficiently to keep up with the product launch deadlines whilst ensuring all imagery is of the highest standard.

Working collaboratively with the creative and wider studio team you’ll be reviewing imagery, standards and ways of shooting, looking for areas of improvement so that we’re constantly developing our brand imagery.

This role is ideal for someone with great technical understanding as well as someone who is highly organised and self-motivated.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Shooting high quality photography at volume for White Stuff online as well as creative content shoots when required
  • Supporting the Creative Producer, Senior Retoucher, and Senior Stylist in building White Stuff’s In-House Shoot guide and implementing it
  • Working with the Creative Producer and wider creative team on improving White Stuff imagery across the board
  • Ensuring that daily output target and weekly productivity requirements are met, as well as making sure that imagery is in-line with brand guidelines.
  • Researching current styles and trends within product photography for development and growth of the White Stuff brand and website
  • Managing, mentoring and developing the Junior Photographer
  • Reviewing and approving the team’s work on a daily basis, pre-retouch, to ensure White Stuff’s in house team is producing the best on brand imagery
  • Working collaboratively with the styling team and wider studio team to cast models appropriate for White Stuff
  • Maintaining studio equipment, keeping an inventory of all equipment, setting up and breaking down photography sets when required
  • Supporting in day to day running of the studio

What you’ll need:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates expertise and judgment in the applied techniques of model fashion photography and stills product photography (composition, lighting, capture, and processing), as well as pre-production and post-production steps.
  • Extensive experience in a professional ecommerce studio environment.
  • Experience working in-house for a brand.
  • Excellent knowledge of common digital capture platforms, various lighting environments, photography equipment and best practices/conventions for set safety.
  • Advanced knowledge of Capture One, Canon Camera Systems and Profoto lighting is a must.
  • Self-motivated but able to work within a very close-knit team.
  • Experienced Photoshop user with a strong understanding of colour correction Knowledge of Mac OSX computing platforms.
  • Video capture and editing experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Confident and comfortable liaising across all levels and departments
