We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and dedicated Senior Pharmacy Assistant to play a critical role , supporting the pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in providing medicines optimisation services across the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.
You need to be service-user focused, compassionate and have the skills to work effectively in this rewarding area of care.

As part of the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Mental Health team, your time will be spent working at different sites within the boroughs, undertaking tasks which includes maintaining and ordering medication supplies, checking the suitability of patients own medicines and gathering information to support medicines reconciliation - full training and support will be provided.
You will also participate in dispensary sessions at St Charles Hospital, to accurately supply and dispense medicines for all CNWL sites, as well as weekend working and late duties on a rotational basis.
A good general education demonstrating a suitable level of literacy and numeracy is essential as well as good communication skills, an ability to work in teams, along with basic IT skills.
This post requires a conscientious and methodical person who is able to work accurately at all times and sometimes on their own.
This position is a full time post and you will be expected to work at CNWL’s sites in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster and the dispensary at St Charles Hospital, Ladbroke Grove.

Working as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant as part of the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Mental Health team and supporting the Business Support Officer, your time will be spent working at different sites within the boroughs, undertaking tasks which includes maintaining and ordering medication supplies, checking the suitability of patients own medicines and gathering information to support medicines reconciliation and administrative tasks - full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- To complete all tasks in accordance with the relevant legislation, local standard operating procedures, and local Medicines Policy
- To participate in the operation of efficient medicines stock control and management systems for the various areas within the pharmacy, wards and departments.
- To maintain all necessary records including the use of computer equipment and other appropriate documents.
- To provide wards and units with technical and clinical medicines optimisation services, under the supervision of a pharmacy technician or pharmacist.
- To maintain safe systems of work at all times, including the knowledge of and abiding by the fire precautions, departmental and Trust safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- To promote the professional image of pharmacy within the Trust by ensuring the standard of dress and behaviour reflect the professional service offered by the pharmacy department.
- Management of monthly checks on manpower returns on Healthroster
- Support pharmacy department by providing minute taking and administrative support to the Pharmacy Business Support Officer
- Undertake general administrative tasks
- Check the team emails and sign post to the appropriate teams or individuals to action.
- Ensure all paperwork and stationary used by the pharmacy department are appropriately stocked at all times
- Assist with general day to day running of the pharmacy office including house keeping duties, including reporting all repairs to estates
- To liaise with external suppliers with respect to orders and invoices
