Senior People Business Partner York, England
Job description
A successful, leading independent social change organisation working to solve UK Poverty is looking to recruit an experienced Senior People Business Partner.
This is an exciting and challenging newly created opportunity for an experienced Senior People Professional to be a trusted partner to directors and senior managers, and provide proactive and consultative HR support that facilitates organisational development goals, including organisational culture and performance, developing our work to become an anti-racist organisation as well as broader EDI goals, leadership and management development, staff development and growth and reward and recognition. The role will also advise on day-to-day matters including, recruitment and selection, organisational development and staff relations issues.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the role will work closely with JRF directors and teams. The role will be embedded in a way that means it will fully understand the strategic aims and work plans for the organisation, and work with colleagues to develop people solutions that enable the organisation to deliver its important mission.
The successful candidate will role model, champion, support and hold others to account for living the organisations values through demonstrating the key behaviours that underpin those values. Through building partnerships and working with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, and collaborating internally with colleagues, you will bring fresh new ideas into the organisation and translate these into solutions that meet the people needs of the organisation in an efficient and effective way.
As such, we are looking for a candidate with a breadth and depth of experience of working as a standalone HRBP in a range of organisations. Crucially, we’re looking for an individual who is innovative and creative, hungry to find new ways of delivering solutions and demonstrably able to build relationships internally and externally to facilitate this. Additionally, you should possess experience of working strategically and operationally, with a demonstrable understanding that strategic work is built on the foundations of a strong operational HR presence, policies and processes.
Ideally qualified to level 5 CIPD (minimum) and/or having gained significant experience in a generalist HR role, you will be an adept HR business partner with a good understanding of how value is created through our people and possess well-honed skills in coaching and guiding managers through their people issues. You will also possess an active commitment to driving forward our equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) work, especially as we work towards becoming an anti-racist organisation.
For more information and to have an informal discussion about the role please contact our retained partner, Melanie Jones, Head of HR Recruitment, at Castle Employment Group.
