About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to join our operations team based in London. This role within the Driver team requires a rare combination of project management, analytical problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to work together with key team members. You’ll work on both strategy and execution - taking projects from idea through to implementation.
The role will work closely across the UK&I operational and functional teams including EMEA central operational teams, Marketing, Legal, Business Development, Policy & Comms teams as well as other HQ teams across the business. With London leading the way, you’ll be at the forefront of defining Uber’s electric vehicle strategy globally, sharing lessons learnt and best practices across the globe.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with the UK&I electrification lead to design, continuously improve and scale the strategy and operations of the UK electrification program to allow all drivers on the app to upgrade to fully-electric vehicles over the next 2-7 years
- Work closely with cross-functional groups across UK&I, EMEA and HQ-specific teams to progress towards on our global electrification targets and identify business problems or opportunities
- Maintain external relationships with key industry players, for example, policy advisors, car manufacturers, charge point operators, and other industry players alongside our Business Development and Policy teams
- Data Analyses - Use data to improve decision making and impact business outcomes across the UK and Ireland
- Problem-Solving - Solve business challenges by identifying the root cause and implementing effective solutions.
- Cross-functional collaboration - Engage with a number of functions across the business - policy, communications, product, marketing, legal and customer support and, in some cases, manage external collaborators.
- Project management and execution - Plan and project manage multiple projects and have the ability to implement in a constantly changing, complex environment.
- Product - Collaborate closely with our product teams to test and roll out new features or products that improve the Uber app.
What you’ll need
- A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in data-driven decision-making and sound business judgement through end to end project management and strategic problem solving
- Strong project management skills - the ability to prioritise and successfully drive a project from beginning to end - no matter what
- Strategic problem solver, able to work through complex, high level challenges and recommend short and long term solutions
- Consistent track record of being a respected operational problem solver
- Cross-functional collaboration - you will partner with a range of local and regional teams including Policy, Business Development, Legal, Product, Marketing, Central Operations, Customer Experience, Regulatory Operations and Cities to launch initiatives
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and implement quickly
- Resourceful, go getter - Uber is committed to constant improvement. You're excited to create new value for the business and design processes, analyses and operations that can scale
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans
- Interest or background in sustainability or vehicles is a plus
- SQL knowledge preferred (and if not, must possess an analytical attitude to learn quickly as this will quickly form part of your day-to-day)
