The Role

The Senior Merchandising Manager - Trade Driving is responsible for delivering best in class execution throughout our customer journeys. We want to wow our customers and make the shopping experience as simple, smart and inspiring as possible.

As a leader within the Trade Merchandising team, you will drive the strategy for how we will help customers find their weekly essentials as well as discover their favourite new products from Ocado's vast and exciting range. You will have responsibility for all merchandising levers to drive sales and customer experience. This is a 12 month fixed term contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver best in class customer experiences for our core customer journey touchpoints such as Search, Favourites, Checkout Walk, FOP, BOP and Aisles.
• Relentless focus and optimisation of the customer experience of the core website functionality.
• Own and develop best practice implementation and guidelines, continually optimising to balance customer needs and commercial delivery.
• Feed into the overall Merchandising strategy, building plans to deliver basket growth / category expansion and enhancing customer experience.
• Drive commercially beneficial customer purchasing behaviour using the range of merchandising levers available - creating a strategy for when and how they are best utilised.
• Manage the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of all product merchandising including product details, images, search experience, navigation and checkout walk.
• Own category insight, defining required reporting and ways of working to drive continual optimisation and trading of categories.
• Build and own strong relationships with SBM’s and HOB’s becoming the go to ecomm point of contact for category level queries within the buying team.
• Collaboratively build an aligned category expansion and basket building plan with relevant Buying stakeholders.
• Develop strategic elements to feed into key cross functional workstreams such as Value, New to Ocado, Range USPs and content enhancement.
• Relentlessly educate the wider business on performance, the site and how / when to utilise levers to drive different trading requirements.
• Feed requirements for new features and functionality into wider digital development and offsite teams to ensure best possible journeys across all touch points.
• Develop a strong and highly engaged trade driving merch team.
