We are looking for Senior Mental Health Practitioners to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. We have 5 multi-disciplinary teams located in:
- Keynsham
- Salisbury
- Melksham
- Marlborough
- Swindon
You don’t need any previous experience working in CAMHS, as long as you have the relevant professional registration in place we can support you with our excellent training and development packages.
We are hugely committed to investing in our staff. Part of this commitment is our unique training strategy. By joining our team you will be able to access our comprehensive CAMHS training programme over 2 years, with training ranging from CAMHS specific Trauma, Gender and Formulation training.
We will work with you to identify any learning and development needs you have and to ensure you receive adequate time to attend training, as well facilitate your access to high quality supervision to maintain your clinical skills gained from this training. This will equip you to be the best you can be in your role, whilst also helping you to focus on your future and career development.
You will have the opportunity to make an active and meaningful contribution to our exciting service modernisation and redesign that is based on the i-Thrive model, ensuring children and young people get the right support, at the right time, in the right place, from individuals with the right skills. Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS, colleagues in Children Services and a range of external agencies such as Children’s Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Services and Police is central to the role.
We can offer flexible shift patterns that can work around you. Our team provides cover for a core day of 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday–Sunday and Bank Holidays. These hours will allow you to work flexibly and enable you to have days off during the week, whilst attracting enhancement payments. There is a requirement to participate in covering the service’s 24 hour on call service on a rota basis, and further remuneration will be offered to support this. The frequency of evening/weekend shifts and cover of the on call rota is subject to change, dependent upon the needs of the service, though would typically involve working an evening shift each week, up to two weekend days per month and covering the on call rota for up to four weeks in a year.
Our teams work together to provide support, treatment, advice and signposting to their patients, including the facilitation of short term interventions up to long term interventions and crisis care. You will be working alongside psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychotherapists and children’s wellbeing practitioners.
