Design Engineer – Wisbech - £45,000

SoCode Engineering is currently working with the leading supplier of mechanical engineering services, fabrications, architectural steelwork and equipment to major UK companies in the food processing, water treatment and civil engineering industries. Working with the likes of Nestle, Anglian Water and McCain; this is an opportunity to get your teeth into multiple global projects and design top of the range machines and products. Due to their continued success, they are looking to recruit an additional experienced Design Engineer to join the design team.

The main role of the position will be to produce designs and drawings to provide solutions for their mechanical engineering services. But as a Mechanical Design Engineer you will also:

• Liaise with the Project Managers to establish project requirements
• Ensure that design solutions are accurate, on time and cost effective
• Consider the optimal fabrication and installation procedures during the design process
• Create 3D models for the design solutions using Solidworks
• Produce accurate approval drawings which fully detail the proposals
• Produce accurate and timely manufacturing drawings which fully detail what is to be made
• Produce exported files for use by our subcontract suppliers

They have purpose-built workshops based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and we work on sites both locally and throughout the country. With a salary range of £35,000 - £45,000, this permanent position can offer growth into either a more senior design role, or even into project management / business development.
