Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer - Leeds

Why we need you?
As part of our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our East Hub team based in Leeds. This is a mobile role supporting our venues in Leeds, Newcastle, Whitley Bay, Hull and York in the delivery of PPM works to ensure our buildings and estates equipment are complaint with all relevant statutory regulations and SFG20.
You will work as part of a team supporting the venue teams on operational events as well as on dark days which means this role requires flexibility and a willingness to work evenings and/or weekends where required.
Purpose of the Role
- Work with the East Hub estates team in ensuring statutory compliance and providing a safe working environment to all.
- Support the Estates team in delivering the best possible service to our venue teams and clients/tenants.
- Forge strong working relationships with all venue departments, clients and external contractors.
- Support the business with the roll out, implementation and effective use of a new CAFM system, creating asset registers and ensuring PPM schedules are carried out effectively and in line with statutory compliance.
- To respond to breakdowns of mechanical HVAC, gas and plumbing equipment and carry out testing, maintenance and fault-finding activities.
- Ensure the performance of Building Services equipment is accurately recorded including all Maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies through observing the way building services plant and system are being utilised and proposing new ways of working.
- Develop, review and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with Health and Safety Legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
- Ensure the adequate maintenance of stock levels and replenishment of critical spare parts and components.
- To take responsibility for the security and good housekeeping of restricted areas, plant rooms, storage areas and workshop spaces.
- To deputise for the Estates Manager East Hub as required.
Skills and Competencies
- Qualified engineer to City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent
- City and Guilds Water Regulations & Unvented Hot Water Systems (3345)
- ACS Gas certification – COCN1 Core Commercial Heating – Natural Gas Safety and Appliances
- A proven track record of performing PPM and reactive maintenance activities on HVAC, Gas and Plumbing equipment
- Ability to forge strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of ensuring the team and the business is compliant with all statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Able to work both independently, managing your own workload and being able to prioritise your activities in addition to working as part of a wider Estates team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The requirements of the business are such that it is necessary to have a flexible approach and therefore some business-related travel to be able to work at our venues and operational sites will be required.
