Job title: Senior Manager, Group Regulatory Affairs
SALARY: £78,634 - £92,510
LOCATION(S): Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
Are you passionate about regulatory risk and playing a key role in managing the Group’s relationship with the PRA? Are you keen to support the Group’s Executives and Non-Executive Director’s in their interactions with the regulators? Working as part of a team effort, we’re looking for a Senior Manager to help us inform and support senior executives and relevant business areas to achieve the best possible outcomes in their interactions with the PRA.
We’re committed to embracing a hybrid way of working, with 2 days per week spent in the office and the new principles of Flexibility works.
About this opportunity
Group Regulatory Affairs manages the Group’s regulatory relationships with our main regulators, the PRA & the FCA. We support GEC members, Board members and business areas in their interactions with the supervisors. Through our close monitoring of the supervisors’ public statements and also their engagements with different parts of the Group, we identify insights about the supervisors’ priorities and how best the Group should respond.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work alongside the Head of Group Regulatory Affairs and the rest of the team to drive the Group’s ambitions around Regulatory Engagement. Manage the Group’s day-to-day relationship with the PRA in specified topic/business areas of responsibility.
- Support senior Group executives and Board members to achieve the best possible outcomes in their interactions with the PRA. Prepare briefings, MI and reports that provide senior management and the Board with latest positions on regulatory topics and insight about the approach/views of our supervisors.
- Act as a trusted adviser for business contacts to ensure regulatory interactions are successful. Influence business decision-making by providing insight, control and thought leadership.
- Assist driving the transformation of Regulatory Affairs, seeking opportunities to enhance products delivered.
- Learn from internal and external sources to evolve LBG’s engagement to meet regulatory expectations.

What you’ll need
- Previous experience working with/or at the PRA or FCA.
- Specific experience and knowledge of commercial banking risks, credit risk and risk management frameworks.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the prudential regulations applicable to the Group.
- Strong ability to communicate in all forms and to audiences at all levels both internally and externally
- Ability to produce high quality written content in the form of board papers and briefings
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Proven ability to provide effective thought leadership and intellectual curiosity to produce insightful, high-quality briefings, contact reports, advice and guidance to support senior partner needs, adjusting style and message based on audience.
- Proven ability to influence with impact, shaping the opinions and actions of key partners, gaining their trust and commitment to the desired outcome and an ability to build strong partner relationships both internally and externally.
- Passion for understanding commercial banking risks and business models and a good understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
- Desire and capability to understand the Group’s key risks and appreciation of the regulator’s likely approach to assessing these risks.
