Job description
To support the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the Library and Knowledge Service.
This is a cross-site post working between Birmingham Women’s Hospital (B15 2TG) and Birmingham Children’s Hospital (B4 6NH), with your home library being Birmingham Children’s.
Promoting a professional service with a kind and helpful team ethos, and excellent performance standards and employment practice. Supporting the Operational Team with day-to-day running of the Library and Knowledge Service and with delivery of the Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework for NHS-Funded Knowledge and Library Services in England, Second edition 2022. Reflecting on practice and being self-aware of performance.
Supervising / supporting work of the Band 3 Senior Library Assistant and Band 2 Library Assistant including allocating work and providing advice. Working alongside of the Band 4 Senior Library Assistant and Band 5 Evidence Specialist.
- Supervising / supporting the work of the operational team including allocating work and providing advice whilst ensuring quality and understanding of library priorities identified throughthe Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework for NHS-Funded Knowledge and Library Services in England, Trust Initiatives and stakeholders engagement
- Supporting library-users to locate and access print and online resources for patient care, research or professional development
- Supporting library inductions, and promotional events
- Supporting training and information events including needs analysis
- Supporting NHS Procurement including ordering and receipting goods and services
- Providing administrative support to the Evidence Specialist and Library Manager
- Supporting the enquiry desk, in the absence of, Band 2 and Band 3 staff
