Job description

We are investing in our academic provision and are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Facilities Management to join our team of experienced academic staff. We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic academic to make a key contribution to our academic provision through teaching, research and enterprise.

You will be able to teach and contribute to our research and enterprise portfolio in areas within the facilities management discipline, using industry experience to inform teaching. Our Surveying, Construction and Project Management group covers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses where you will be expected to take an active role in teaching in the subject areas.

We welcome applicants with a degree in a related subject to facilities management and either experience in practice or academia who have a good understanding of the issues facing the industry and how they are currently being dealt with in the area. A strong understanding of the processes behind facilities management is desirable as the postholder will be expected to undertake teaching on the modules that serve the facilities management courses as well as other courses that require facilities management expertise. Corporate membership or eligibility for corporate membership of a relevant professional body would be essential.

You will join the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing based at our City Campus and contribute to the delivery of our growing undergraduate and postgraduate provision. There are extensive and excellent specialist facilities located in a setting which offers many additional amenities for our students and staff.
