Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design

THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced Course Leader for our BA Fashion Design course. We are looking for a dynamic and multidisciplinary academic practitioner to develop and lead the undergraduate Fashion Design course. The role holder will have a breadth of knowledge and an area of expertise within fashion design, with a specific focus on sustainability incorporated within fashion education.
The role holder will show a commitment to a student-centred approach to teaching, and participate in teaching, scholarship, research and innovation in accordance with the School/Faculty objectives, and make a significant contribution to the research profile of the School.
The role holder must demonstrate a proactive approach to industrial engagement and professional practice, and enhance student employability and enterprise opportunities.
The successful candidate should possess highly effective interpersonal skills and be a student-centred educator, focused on promoting diversity and inclusivity and with the ability to provide constructive and critical support. The successful candidate should have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
A proactive approach to industrial engagement, professional practice and graduate employability is central to the ethos of the fashion subject area, and the role holder will actively engage with the student experience, and enhance student employability and enterprise opportunities.
