We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to join the Property section of nplaw’s Places Team. The role is to provide advice and representation to local authorities in all areas of property law.

nplaw is an award-winning public sector shared legal service hosted by Norfolk County Council. We have a wealth of experience gained through many years of advising our clients in local government, the public sector, charities and schools. We provide a wide range of legal services, delivered by specialist lawyers who understand the local government context and priorities. Working for the benefit of the public and having a team ethos is at the heart of our culture and we’re looking for more lawyers to help us deliver our services.
If you are a seasoned property lawyer we would love to discuss how you might fit in with our flourishing Property team.
To be considered for the role, you will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or FCILEx with at least 3 years PQE and demonstrable experience of a wide range of property law matters including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, overage agreements, granting and taking commercial leases and licences, deeds of easement and development agreements. You will also have supervisory and/or management experience and, ideally, a proven track record of managing client relationships.

We know we’re asking for a lot, but in return we think we have a lot to offer. This role provides variety in what you do, challenging and high-impact cases to work on, the opportunity to work for the benefit of the wider public and the chance to progress your career within an award-winning legal service, where you will learn from some talented and experienced professionals. Then there’s the working environment at nplaw, where we put work life balance at the forefront and offer flexible, smarter working arrangements, all underpinned by leading edge technology. Our employees’ well-being is a really high priority for us and we provide you with a buddy who can guide you through the new starter process, we have trained mental health first aiders and an employee helpline and counselling service to support our staff. It is important to us that you feel able to bring your whole self to work and we encourage a diverse workforce. There’s also our physical environment here in Norfolk, where you will be surrounded by a unique blend of beaches, broads, countryside and culture, which we think is hard to beat!

We think this is a great role in a great place. If you’re still reading, and you think you have what it takes, then we would love to hear from you.
