Senior Keeper - Ectotherms
Salary: £25,145

Contract Type: Fixed Term from 29th May to 13th October 2023
Bristol Zoological Society is recruiting for the above position of Senior Keeper at the Bristol Zoo Gardens site in Clifton, but may also include work at our sister site the Wild Place Project. Working hours are based on a fortnightly rota, which will include weekends and bank holidays. It may also include occasional evening work.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience working with a variety of zoo species and previous knowledge and experience working within a zoological collection. The successful candidate must hold either the Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals, or a relevant degree with appropriate experience. Experience with ectotherm species would be desirable.
We’re looking for an individual with a positive outlook, the ability to work within a team and to have a good knowledge of the conservation and educational roles of zoos. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, written and oral, as well as knowledge of animal training and enrichment programmes.
This is a practical position assisting in all aspects of management and husbandry of the Zoo’s animal collection.
The role is expected to be from 29th May to 13th October 2023.
