The Europe Tax team is building to work with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance in direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax and solve tax related issues.
TikTok is seeking an enthusiastic Sr. Tax Manager to join the Tax team to support its rapid business growth in Europe. The ideal candidate has experience in managing indirect tax compliance in the UK and Europe, possesses strong technical skills, and can work seamlessly together with colleagues in multiple departments (e.g. Legal, Finance) to support our business teams to develop comprehensive and practical tax solutions.
Experience in the taxation of the digital economy and a good knowledge of ERP systems / Alteryx is a big plus, to add valuable input across various taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, DST) in business projects across multiple jurisdictions in a high pace environment.
Job Description
- Indirect Tax compliance to support our local offices.
- Providing Indirect Tax advice across Europe.
- Track and provide communication internally on changes in Indirect tax rules and regulations.
- Research and model impacts of important Indirect tax legislative and policy proposals.
- Assist in implementing appropriate strategies and solutions in response to new Indirect rules.
- Identify tax risks and value add opportunities within Indirect Tax area, develop action plans and proactively work with stakeholders to achieve positive results.
- Manage Indirect Tax controversies including audits and notices in the Europe region.
- Provide Indirect Tax structuring, restructuring, supply chain and process improvements to help operate our business in the most appropriate manner. Provide Indirect Tax advice/support on various business lines / projects as well as ad-hoc tax matters.
- Work cross-functionally with commercial stakeholders, finance, treasury, legal teams, and external advisers to provide Indirect Tax advice.
- Conduct tax training session with various stakeholders as and when required.
- Provide support to the Europe Head of Tax and to HQ International Tax Team on advising the business on the VAT impact of new initiatives.
- Min 8/10 years of robust Indirect Tax experience in a large MNC and/ Big 4 with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or taxation.
- Qualified in a professional Accountancy Qualification - ACA / ATT or CTA qualified or qualified by experience in the relevant profession or HMRC.
- TMT/ technology industry working experience is a plus.
- Solid UK and/or European Indirect Tax knowledge and analytical skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
