About the Role
An excellent opportunity has a risen for a full time, permanent Senior HR Officer in the Department of Chemistry. Reporting to the HR Team Leader, you will focus on the day-to-day operation of HR in the Department and take responsibility for supervising (or acting as a point of reference) the other HR Officers in the team. You will build effective working relationships with line managers, providing advice, support as well as performing and overseeing end to end processes in relation to the employee life cycle. You will liaise with Managers, Secretarial Staff, Central Payroll, Finance, Faculty Office and divisional HR employees on a range of issues.
There is a strong recruitment focus to the role but you will be expected to provide a range of generalist administrative HR support, including employee relations and providing policy assistance in relation to the University’s processes and procedures as well as working on ad hoc projects as requested by the HR Team Leader and Head of HR.
About You
You will have previous experience of working in a HR Team/role and managing HR processes and be qualified or working toward CIPD graduate level, or have equivalent experience. As well as sound knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and Home Office regulations for Visas. Experience of operating HR information systems and producing management information reports and the ability to clearly and accurately communicate processes and procedures verbally and in writing is essential.

The post is located at the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford and we would be happy to discuss hybrid working arrangements.
