About the opportunity

We work for many of the councils and transport authorities running the UK’s largest cities including London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Dublin, Leeds, Manchester and have long standing client relationships and ambitious growth plans.
As we prepare for a more automated, digital and decarbonised future, we will provide the training and transferable skills to take your knowledge to different markets. As an experienced highways design engineer and project lead you will support the continued growth of our talent and capability and the delivery leadership of our long term pipeline of infrastructure design work.
As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for project delivery and undertake the role of technical lead on a range of highway and transportation related projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead and mentor a small team of engineers, technicians and apprentices in delivering project design solutions
- You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, technical reports, detailed designs and production of contract documents across a variety of projects.
- Working together with the team and other disciplines in providing an integrated service to clients.
- Help seek innovative solutions in achieving best value in delivering our services.
- Providing technical support and leadership where required.
- You will assist with the technical development of more junior staff.

Here’s What You’ll Need:- A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent experience / alternative professional qualification)
- Technical design experience gained in the transportation sector (Highways, Rail or Aviation).
- Experience of working to client or National Highways design standards
- A focus on professional development towards Chartered Engineer or similar
