Position Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced electronics Hardware Engineer to join our in-house MediaStar Systems product development team. MediaStar by Uniguest offer industry leading video distribution and digital signage systems for corporate enterprises. Our Hardware and Software development team is based at our offices in Newbury, Berkshire, where this position will be based.
We take pride in developing our own electronic hardware and software solutions which gives us the capability to provide our customers with the very best products to meet their needs. This is a role where you will see new products containing your own work being deployed in many ‘blue chip’ companies in the US, UK and other countries around the world. We are looking for highly motivated, highly skilled and experienced individuals, who can take projects from ‘blue sky’ ideas, through hardware design, implementation, testing, production and deployment to the field.
Primary Responsibilities
- Take products successfully through CE and FCC testing, and TUV/UL Safety approvals
- Prepare high quality production documentation and providing ongoing support to our UK based CEMs
- Work effectively as a key part of a small team, where other members will reply upon you to deliver high quality work in a timely manner
Experience & Skills
- High speed digital design skills e.g. DDR4
- Low frequency analogue design skills e.g. analogue audio, reset circuits
- Working experience with a range of broadcast related ‘standard’ interfaces such as I2C, SDI, USB, Ethernet, MPEG2-TS parallel and serial and other digital video busses
- Hands on experience using Altium or Pads schematic capture and PCB layout tools (geometry typically 4 – 6 layers, 4 thou track and gap, 0.8mm pitch 900 ball bga)
- Some RF design experience in particular with DVB-T2 and DVB-S2 tuners and demodulators in the 48 – 870 MHz and 2GHz bands.
- FPGA design experience, preferably including the implementation of HDMI input ports and AES decryption
- Taking products successfully through CE and FCC testing, and TUV/UL Safety approvals
- Preparing high quality production documentation and providing ongoing support to our UK based CEMs
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years’ detailed design experience in developing IP Settop type products with highly integrated SoC devices.
- Advanced Degree in electronic engineering or related field.
